CHS Health Services currently has a part time Staff Physician opportunity to work at two client sites in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in TX. This role would work 8 hours per week splitting 4 hours at each site in Irving and Plano, TX.
SCOPE:
Examines patients and provide diagnoses and care to employees, dependents and dependent children aged 4 years and older. Performs physical exams, immunizations, p! eriodic wellness exams and screenings as indicated. Interprets! tests and exam results, evaluates results and formulates patient management care plans; communicates patient data appropriately with both patient & PCP. Provides illness and injury care; refers to specialists as necessary. Provides individual & group patient education. Collaborates with staff FNP and supervises clinical work by health care team. Reports to Clinic Practice Manager as regards daily operations and works cooperatively with CHS Corporate Medical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A fully unencumbered board certified Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician licensed in the state of Texas with strong clinical background, and at least 5 yearsâ experience in outpatient care settings, working with adults and pediatric patients. ER experience may be in addition to, but not in lieu of outpatient care experience. Works collaboratively with clinical care team. Strong analytical, evaluative abilities and organizational skills and demonstrated manageria! l experience in triaging multiple tasks.
Team player. Excellent written and verbal skills. Proficiency with a computer and the medical equipment necessary for patient care and for emergencies. Ability to work well with adults and children. Maintains emergency skills (BLS; ACLS a plus) to stabilize patients for transport to emergency care. Utilizes CHS' practice EMR efficiently and effectively follows EBM guidelines for patient care. Maintains clinical skills and knowledge.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees clinical care provided by mid-level providers and nurses.
Examines patients and determine appropriate x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests.
Interprets test results, evaluate examination findings, formulate patient management plans, and communicate such to the patient.
Determines the need for and assist in specialized medical care and treatment.
Maintains currency in Basic Cardiac Life Support! , Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Provides diagnosis and care on the basis of medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
Performs physical examinations as part of the pre-employment, periodic and occupational health surveillance programs.
Maintains familiarity with all emergency procedures and applicable medical operating instructions, policies and instructions. Maintains a full working knowledge of applicable medical standards.
Provides medical care with limited equipment, supplies, and personnel at remote sites as required.
Directs patient care activities of nurses, technicians, and other assigned staff.
Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.
Refers to other physicians those injuries or illnesses, which will require time off from work, specialty medical care, or extended follow up.
Monitors exercise electrocardiographic testing as part of the physical examination program.
OTH! ER DUTIES:
Serve as interface with local private physician for referral of patients and interchange of information important to patient health and safety.
Maintains familiarity with all emergency procedures and medical operating instructions and policies.
Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO and other mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/standards.
Performs other assigned departmental operations to maintain workflow.
