Description Work Schedule: Full-time Days Position Summary and Job Responsibilities: Outpatient Registered Nurse is responsibl! e for the nursing activities related to the peri-anesthesia care of the patient experiencing a major and/or multiple invasive procedure. The RN is an experienced resource person in all types and phases of post-anesthesia care, and provides guidance to other licensed as well as non-licensed personnel. This North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency. Qualifications Experience :
Minimum five years previous Med/Surg-OP experience required within the past two years. Previous PACU experience preferred. Specific Requirements :
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Bachelors' Degree in Nursing and Specialty Certification preferred.
Certified in CPR Required.
Certified in ACLS is required, or must! be obtained within three months of hire date.
Possess the! ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to peri-anesthesia nursing.
Clinically proficient in peri-anesthesia nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient, and functions as a role model for others.
