- Must have six (6) college credit hours in early childhood/child development or related field.
- Must have at least six (6) months experience in an early child! hood setting.
- Must be able to obtain CPR certification to include adult, child, and infant CPR and First aid (must include pediatric) certificates.
Position requires background check, fingerprint and TB test requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
CDA preferred
Previous experience working with children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in an early childhood setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the general supervision and support the management of a classroom of children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years of age.
- Treat all children with dignity, respect and maintain confidentiality and consider the individual child in relationship to his/her cultural and socioeconomic background.
- Support the planning, implementation, and supervision of the daily program in accordance wit! h the policies and philosophy of San Jacinto College Children'! s Center, NAEYC Accreditation and Minimum Standards.
- Serve as an early childhood professional role mole to student assistants, lab students, interns and parents as well as children.
- Support the learning environment through preparation of materials and supplies, the arrangement and appearance of the classroom.
- Adhere to and support the implementation of posted information such as daily schedule, lesson plans, calendars, newsletter daily activities, and allergy charts.
- Assist in the evaluation process of children progress through authentic assessment methods.
- Assistant in maintaining and managing all daily record; and maintain cleanliness and safety of room.
- Attend staff meetings and obtain 20 approved clock hours of training per year.
- Keep CPR and first aid certificates up to date, practice emergency drills with children, attend to first aid needs of the children, and administer prescribed medication and document!

Salary Grade 4 - $8.40/hourly ($1,454.75/monthly)

Full-Time position for Staff
Monday through Friday
