The position of Medical Director for the Health Care Collaborative (HCC) will report and partner with the EVP/VP/ED for Population Health and Network Development to create an alliance that will meet the following objectives: to ! explore innovative health care delivery and payment models to improve the quality and efficiency of health care in Texas; improve health care transparency; give health care providers the flexibility to collaborate and innovate to improve the quality and efficiency of health care; and create incentives to improve the quality and efficiency of health care.
Major Responsibilities of the Medical Director, Health Care Collaborative:
Advising in the creation and development of the HCC clinical quality management programs including the patient centered medical home, key performance indicators, physician scorecard, and compliance with all HCC requirements.
Working closely with the HCC Director, Clinical Management, to evaluate programs to improve the quality and education to the population around the patient centered medical home, care management model, and patient engagement strategies.
Working closely with the HCC Board of Directors and Board C! ommittee Chairs to develop physician incentive programs and st! rategies for improving quality of care to the underserved population.
Evaluating physician engagement strategies and community initiatives that would result in improved care and partnering with local community organizations to provide opportunities for patient education.
Serves as the physician leader for all of the HCC Committee engagements and work collectively with the Executive Director on provider reimbursement strategies.
Proactively integrate the philosophy and practice of continuous quality improvement to meet desired goals and metrics across the HCC provider network.
In conjunction with the appropriate Childrenâs Medical Center staff, develop, implement and oversee the HCCâs Pay for Performance program.
Provide the clinical leadership for ensuring quality care delivery and efficient clinical operations across the HCC.
Working closely with the HCC Leadership team to collaborate on defining a new healthcare de! livery system for the underserved population in North Texas.
Evaluating initiatives and creating new ways to deliver quality healthcare to the population through evidence based principles with the use of new technology, community outreach and population health principles.
Collaborating with other local Accountable Care Organizations, state agencies and public forums both locally and nationally to gain perspective and guidance during the creation of the HCC.
Support the HCC application process which may include developing standard operating procedures, flow charts, budgeting and implementation strategy.
Work with Medical Director of Population Health and Executive Vice President for Population Health to re-build positive professional, personal and ongoing working relationships with community pediatricians and UT Southwestern specialists.
In conjunction with the appropriate childrenâs Medical Center staff specialists, develop and! implement the necessary legal, corporate and governance structures to ! oversee
Qualifications and Experience:
License to practice medicine in the state of Texas Board Certification in pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty is preferred.
Minimum of 4 yearsâ experience practicing, preferably with administrative leadership experience in addition to clinical practice. Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex experience is preferred.
Well developed and credible relationships with community pediatricians.
Analytical ability to conceptualize well in unstructured, dynamic and/or multidisciplinary environments requiring analysis, foresight, intuition and mature judgment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for frequent contact with community pediatricians, UT Southwestern faculty and Childrenâs Medical Center staff.
Leadership skills, comfort with decision-making responsibilities and comfort serving in an advisory or consultative role.
Ability to work independently, exercise ! appropriate action and good business judgment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.Strong, effective collaboration, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Traveling, as required.
Performing other duties, as necessary, to meet corporate objectives.
