First Choice ER is growing and currently has 9 locations in the Houston area, 5 in Dallas/Fort Worth, 2 in the Austin area and 1 in Colorado Springs.
The Front Office Staff is the first point of contact with patients in the facility and by telephone. This position will work in harmony with the Medical Staff to ensure each patient is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member is treated with the utmost respect. Courteously and professionally check in patients before being seen by the physician and provide secondary support to all office personnel.
Responsibilities:
Answers by phone or in person, patient inquiries regarding First Choice ER and services provided.
Stands and greets all patients and explains clearly the concept behind First Choice Emergency Rooms and pat! ient co-payment and insurance information.
Expedites emerg! ency medical cases as needed to the nurse or physician on duty.
Verifies and documents patient insurance eligibility information and co-payment amounts.
Reviews and processes patient registration forms and medical records ensuring they contain all necessary documents.
Collects fee for Prompt Pay services and co-payment.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
Possess work ethic characteristics of honesty, integrity and accountability.
Ability to incorporate excellent customer service skills in dealing with personnel, physicians, peers and clients.
Must express information in a clear, concise and organized manner.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
CPR certification
Required Education:
Associate Degree or equivalent in experience
Desired Skills:
Understanding of insurance carrier pla! n configurations in respect to calculations of coinsurance, deductibles and percentages paid.

Medical office/hospital back office
