More details about this career opportunity please read the description below. My client, a large hospital in Eastern TX has a need for an experienced Director of NICU & Peds.

We are seeking highly a motivated individual as the Clinical Director for our Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric units.

The Clinical Director will collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Council regarding the leadership for the department and for nursing in general. The preferred candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills and fosters collaborative physician relationships. The Clinical Director serves as a staff role model and drives s! taff satisfaction by providing leadership that encourages team! building, communication, positive attitudes and change as well as supports the art and science of nursing by modeling best nursing practice. This leader makes decisions based on current evidenced-based nursing research and adheres to regulations set by regulatory agencies. Other skills being sought are the ability to work interdependently to achieve optimal patient outcomes, assure that operational efficiency is framed in performance improvement standards, and support and encourage a shared governance environment within the division and hospital.

Qualifications

Texas RN license

Current BCLS and ACLS; if not current must obtain within first 30 days of hire

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

3 to 5 years clinical experience; prefer 1 to 3 years management experience in related areas of nursing

Strong NICU background and pediatric background a plus

Must be able to utilize computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Power! Point

Must possess effective communication skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data

About our Neonatal ICU and Pediatric Units

The 24-bed, Level IIIA NICU was designed with our patients and their families in mind. We have a private consultation room, a Parent's Lounge for family and visitors, and our individual patient rooms provide newborns with the maximum level of comfort and privacy possible in a hospital setting. We provide specialized medical care utilizing state-of-the-art respiratory technology, monitoring equipment, nutritional support and we incorporate the latest advancements in developmental care support to eliminate unnecessary stress levels for our patients.

Our highly-trained NICU team includes board certified Neonatologists, certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Occupational, Physical, Respiratory and Speech Therapists, Dietitians, Lactation Consultants, Social Workers, Pastoral care and o! ther related medical providers. We work closely with local physicians t! o deliver the continuity of care our patients need to grow and thrive.

Pediatrics is a 21-bed unit with 18 private rooms and one 3-bed area that can be utilized for outpatients or inpatients. Each private room is equipped with a bed for the parent/child and a television to access children’s programming. All rooms are hard wired for cardiac/respiratory/pulse oximeter monitoring with a central station located in the nurses’ station. The unit is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment funded by Children’s Miracle Network with the goal of delivering the highest quality, evidence-based care. The unit also has a playroom to provide diversional activities and a Child Life Specialist to assist with the developmental needs of the patients.

We provide family-centered medical/surgical care for pediatric patients. These patients are provided total patient care by a collaborative team consisting of pediatricians, registered nurses, patient care associates, phys! ical and respiratory services, dieticians, social workers, a child life specialist and other related health-care providers. This unit also provides care to adult medical/surgical overflow patients.
