Retail Branch Manager Paint

A well established paint manufacturer in Modderfontein is looking for the services of a Retail Branch Manager at their Randburg branch (retail paint store). The store is located in Randburg. The Branch Manager is responsible for the daily operation and overall performance of the retail paint store. The Branch Manager is responsible for “their business”. This includes activities geared at sales, merchandising, stock management, security, customer service, banking, reporting, administration and housekeeping. The Branch Manager exhibits strong sales, profit, service, management, organizational and administration ability. The store retails a range of decorative coatings, industrial coatings, preparation products, field marking machines and liquids and painting accessories. Retail hours are applicable (i.e. incl Saturday mornings).
Requirements:
- Matric essential.
- Own transport essential.
- Must reside within close proximity to the store (Randburg and immediate surrounds)
- Strong sales ability and sales experience.
- Demonstrable sales track record essential. Must be comfortable with telephonic sales.
- Retail experience beneficial, but not essential.
- Paint / coatings experience beneficial, but not essential.
- Strong personality and self-driven.
- Mature and responsible demeanor.
- IT literate
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times.
- Friendly demeanor and interpersonal skills (time managements, assertiveness, and conflict resolution).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales
- Assumes full responsibility for the sales performance of the store.
- Grow the business (volume and turnover).
- Retain margins.
- Assume full responsibility for own performance and the achievement of store KPA’s.
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales and financial targets and any additional targets which may be set by the company from time to time.
- Identify new sales opportunities and increase the number and depth of active accounts. Generate new business and rejuvenate lost business.
- Acquire referrals.
- Ensure that the maximum number of product lines are sold.
- Upsell and cross sell to drive revenue.
- Grow the store’s active customer base.
- Submit detailed daily call reports on customer interactions for capturing within the SAP CRM.
- Actively manage CRM customer data (for accuracy and completeness within CRM) and customer quotations on a proactive basis.
- Ensure that the sales pipeline is effectively managed and of adequate size in order to meet sales objectives.
- Identify new sales opportunities and increase the number and depth of active accounts. Generate new business and rejuvenate lost business.
- Ensure that all product sample requests are approved as per procedure and that in-situ trials are conducted. Drive and control the conversion of trials to sales on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that all new business quotations and opportunities are actively and speedily followed up on and closed.
- Pro-active telephonic and face to face contact with customers where necessary.
- Control discounts and ensure adherence to discount mandate and policy.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with customers ensuring customer retention and customer satisfaction
- Ensure fully equipped with exemplary and detailed product/technical knowledge.
Operational
- Assumes full responsibility for the running, management and performance of the store, encompassing all the activities required for such purposes.
- Ensure that store trading hours are adhered to.
- Controlling expenses in line with the budget.
- Full understanding of the company’s relevant processes, procedures and policies and ensuring full compliance of the stores thereto.
- Assumes full responsibility for ensuring performance in line with the level required by the job/role description.
- Ensure that all customer complaints are immediately logged within the complaint procedure and retain ownership of the complaint until fully resolved.
- Assist finance in resolving specific account payment issues as required.
- Roll out, control, coordinate and finalise colour database issues (e.g. price updates, database updates etc).
- Assumes full responsibility for the management of any additional retail store staff.
- Ensure that job responsibilities are executed effectively, efficiently and professionally. Each staff member must operate at the level required by their job.
- Assumes full responsibility for exemplary housekeeping of the branch.
- Ensure the effective and efficient daily running of the stores encompassing all the activities required for such purposes. This includes daily cash-ups, daily ordering via MRP, stock optimization, stock takes, stock rotation etc within company policy / procedures.
- Ensure that store P&L objectives are met and exceeded.
- Ensure ethical, honest and professional business dealings with all customers.
- Full responsibility for stock control, management and any potential losses.
- Manage stock and stock losses and ensure that stores order via MRP daily (ensuring that MRP is used in accordance with company policy).
- Responsible for the execution of in-store stock takes (daily via MRP and monthly).
- Ensure that all additional store staff are effectively trained (product knowledge, technical knowledge, customer service, retail best practices etc)
- Managing, leading, motivating and training staff.
- Use emotional intelligence to maintain a good working environment.
- Executing in-store merchandise strategy and standards.
- Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
- Security / asset control.
- Ensuring that orders are completed and delivered as required.
- Custodian for store maintenance, store equipment, furniture, fixtures and fittings.
- Resolution of ad-hoc customer queries.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: R16,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month
