Description: Parkland Health & Hospital System is currently seeking to employ Trauma Nurse Clinician II Trauma Department right now, this occupation will be situated in Texas. Responsible for managing a caseload of patients admitted to Level I, II and III Trauma Services by facilitating, coordinating an! d enhancing care through clinical expertise, communication and implementation of quality management protocols to minimize complications, maximize effective communications and ensure optimal use of patient and Parkland¿s resources.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have three years of intensive care or emergency care nursing experience.
Equivalent Experience:
  • May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
  • Must have certification in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).
  • Must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Must be a Certified Emergency Nurse or a Critical Care Registered Nu! rse, within 18 months of hire date.
  • Must have Emergen! cy Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or, valid Compact RN license.
Skills or Special Abilities:
  • Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.
  • Applicants must pass Medication Examination prior to hospital orientation. Current Parkland employees requesting reassignment to role must have current Medication Examination on file.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge of all phases of trauma care to include pre-hospital care, resuscitation, stabilization, supportive care, rehabilitation, and organ/tissue routine inquiry.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate patient centere! d/patient valued behaviors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge regarding ICD-9 coding, trauma injury severity scoring, and EMTALA transfer guidelines and performance improvement.
  • Must be able to work variable hours to include holidays and weekends.
