- Under general supervision, the Treatment Counselor is the patient’s link between the provider and the method of paying for treatment. In this position, the doctor prescribed treatment needs are presented to the patient and financial arrangements are made. The Treatment Counselor is responsible for all aspects of the financial arrangements including the calculation of treatment amounts, confirmation and estimates of insurance benefits, and the follow-up of incomplete treatment plans to provide new sources of income to the practice.Reviews patient chart described by the doctor and explains the treatment plan to patient.Works with the patient’s needs to offer various financial planning options, such as: Care Credit,In-House and any other financial options available.Verify insurance options and limitations to determine the best possible financial options for patient.Describe to the patient the financial breakdown of the treatment plan.Input patient information along with notes into the dental system currently in use.May handle financial dental treatment agreements with patients.May chart the treatment for the doctor.May assist the Office Manager with special projects or other responsibilities.Assist Patient Administrator in answering phones, scheduling appointments and collect fees.Understand all insurance referral guidelines and adhere to them as necessary.Assists with other tasks as needed.Requirements:Must have at least 2-3 years Dental front office experienceStrong knowledge of Billing and Treatment Case PresentationBilingual (Spanish) a plus.Ability to multi-taskOrthodontist, Oral Surgery, Endodontist, Pediatric Dentistry experienceHMO knowledgeGood communication skills (written and verbal)Strong customer service ethic.Able to work evening hours and weekends.Computer knowledge (Word, Excel and QSI software is a plus)Goal orientedA comprehensive benefits package is offered, which includes: Medical, Vision, Life Insurance and 401K.
