Clinical Trials of Texas, Inc. is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our clinical research department with excellent phlebotomy skills, experience with packing, shipping and processing labs, PK experience, attention to detail, high quality and good communication.
PURPOSE:
To p rovide support to clinical research coordinators by obtaining , processing and shipping laboratory specimens as defined per sponsors' protocols, CTT policies and procedures and OSHA and IATA requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to :
A. Reads, understands and follow s instruction manuals and sponsor protocols regarding properly obtaining laboratory specimens .
B. P rocess âs and ship s laboratory specimens using good laboratory technique and following OSHA and IATA regulations.
C. Obtains and maintains IATA certification at all times.
D. Maintains confidentiality of patient and protocol issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements with CTT, between CTT and sponsors, between CTT and other entities and in compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
E. Promptly reports any adverse eve nts or laboratory incidents to m anagement that occur when obtaining or processing lab specimens.
F. Ensures availability of appropriate amounts of laboratory supplies at all times.
G. Uses professionalism in all communications with patients, sponsors, physicians, clinic staff, CTT employees, etc. whether communications occur in person, via telephone or via electronic modes.
H. Attends required training courses/conferences in order to stay abreast of current and changing laboratory procedures, protocol requirements, OSHA and IATA regulations, federal regulations and CTT policies.
G. Pursues educational opportunities to increase knowledge of the research process, good laboratory practices, OSHA and IATA regulations
EDUCATION:
Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist preferred .
EXPERIENCE:
At least 1 year prior phleb otomy experience with pediatric and adult patients .
