RN in the State of TX Required
3-5 years of hospital experience required
POSITION SUMMARY : This position is responsible for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary and communicating changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. This position is a Registered Nurse scheduled to work on a full time basis, with demonstrated competencies for at least two nursing service areas, with a minimum of two (2) years current clinical experience in acute care setting with comparable patient populations.
Service Areas - The following areas are considered nursing service areas:
Intensive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit (ICU/IMU)
Medical
Pediatric/Surgical
Cardiac/Telemetry
Women’s Services: Mother/Baby and Pediatric
Surgical Services: Post Acute Care Unit (PACU), Operating Room (OR), Pre-Operative (Pre-Op)
Cardiac Catherization La! b (Cath Lab) and Special Procedures
Emergency Department (! ED)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- They will provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation.
- This person will develop a nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary.
- This person will communicate changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.
- Participates in discharge planning process.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Experience with patient safety best practices preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Demonstrated proficient communication skills.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
A. Education/Skills/Experience:
- Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered ! Nurse (RN)
- Minimum of three (3) years of RN hospital setting experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of unit specific experience required
B. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing â€" OR â€" current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire
- Depending on units hired into and their requirements - PALS and/or ENPC upon hire and NRP and STABLE within six months and TNCC within eighteen months
