The child caregiver/babysitter is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various childcare services as necessary to meet the client an! d child’s needs. The child caregiver/babysitter is responsible for keeping children safe while in their care which includes but is not limited to learning activities and play, feeding and toileting/diapering.
The child caregiver/babysitter will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of the client and child’s care.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the child caregiver / babysitter include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Adhere to child care plan developed by Director of Nursing or Clinical Team Leader
2. Provide nurturing child care and planned activities that meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of the child in accordance with parents' direction
3. Assist in providing a safe environment and promote quality child care through adherence to established policies, procedures and standards
4. Assist in toileting/diapering as needed and follow Standard Precautions
6. Prepare and administer healthy and age appropriate meals and snacks
7. Clean up after the children (including, but not limited to toys, meals, activities)
8. Self-directing with ability to work with little direct supervision
9. Possess emotional maturity, strong judgment skills, patience and positive attitude
10. Treat clients, staff and the public with courtesy, respect and present a positive public image
11. Ensure client’s rights are adhered to. These include but are not limited to:
the right to privacy and dignity while care is being provided
the right to accept or refuse care
the right to confidentiality of their information
12. Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation
13. Use equipment properly and in a safe manner
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED (training in early childhood education a plus!)
2. M! inimum of three (3) yeasr of documented experience working with children
3. Minimum of three (3) excellent child care references from non-relatives
4. Certified in CPR (certification in First Aid a plus!)
5. Pass state and/or national level fingerprint background check
6. Pass drug screening test
7. Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the organizations requirements
8. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
9. Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English
