Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies,! of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work as Nurse Manager in the specialty area of the Pediatric ICU / PICU.
The Manager for PICU accepts responsibility for all department functions in support of the mission, vision, values and facility goals. The manager is an RN and accepts responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.- Accept responsibility for patient safety of the NICU clinical practice environment. - Integrate the management of information and effective communication skills in daily practice.- Build on the ANA Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Practice [1].- Serve as liaison to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others.- Construct decisions to support the continuity of care and the coordination of care across the care settings.- Recognize the role of the manager to maintain high quality age & developmental specific care for the neonate up to 2 years of age.-! Create PICU Department specific initiatives and process impro! vement.- Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.- Accept responsibility for management of multiple levels of personnel (including supervisory positions), payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships.- Serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.- Organize / Supervise human and material resources.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school. BSN required, MSN preferred.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS card.
Minimum of 5 years management experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, supervisory positions, and physician relations, preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, si! gns and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
