Overview:
Perform receptionist and clerical responsibilities for the family waiting area; re! present the hospital utilizing effective customer service skil! ls with visitors; ensure hospital visitation guidelines are followed and the waiting area is used appropriately; assist the families of patients in obtaining needed information.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a receptionist to visitors, providing information upon request; take and deliver family messages; locate families at request of health team members. Positively interact with other members of the health care team in order to meet the needs of the patient and family. Maintain the family waiting area/rest area: make coffee and maintain the coffee maker and supplies; responsible for regulating the use and assignment of lockers; work with others to maintain a neat, orderly waiting area/rest area; ensure proper utilization of the waiting area/rest area, explaining and enforcing hospital visitation guidelines; maintain a current census of unit patients.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of receptionist functions. Ability to utilize hospital I! S terminals and other office equipment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
