Surgical Services provides surgical intervention in specialty areas of General, Orthop! edics, Cardiovascular, Cardiothoracic, Spine, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Urologic, Otolaryngology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Oncology, Podiatry, Pediatric, Laser, Gynecologic and Obstetric surgery. Additional medical specialties include Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy and pain management. The services provided are for both outpatient and inpatient populartions.
The clinical areas include Pre-admission Testing, Day Surgery (Pre-op and Phase II Recovery), OR, PACU (Phase I Recovery) and ENDO.
Procedures/Treatments Provided:
Surgical Services provides clinical care for those patients requiring surgical diagnostic and therapeutic intervention.
Patient Population Served: Infants > 3 months through geriatric
Hours of Operation:
Open from 0630 until 1900, with 12 rooms 7a-3p, 6 rooms 3p-5p, and 2 rooms at 5p-7p. At 7pm we can run x2 rooms with 'On Call' staff to address high volume needs and emergencies.
On W! eekends and Holidays the department is open for any urgent/eme! rgency cases. We can run x2 rooms at same time, 7am-7am.
Active Texas Registered Nurse license or able to obtain.
Educator provides education on direct and indirect patient care. Nurses communicate with physicians/director/charge nurse/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patients clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Additionally, is able to perform nursing duties in assigned department.
