Qualifications/Duties
As an RN at Texas Health Presbyterian Dentonâs PACU Department you will have the opportunity to advance your skills by providing comprehensive and collaborative nursing care for identified post-operative patients utilizing a multidisciplinary approach and work Full Time.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Advanced Life Support obtained within the first 6 months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained with in 90 days of employment
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- 2 years RN experience in ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg or ED
- Data entry skills
- Able to function in a fast paced environment *Team! work a must
- Independent! ly care for post-operative patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards/protocol.
- Possess critical thinking skills to be able to take care of the post-operative patients quickly and efficiently.
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
- Responsible for his/her own professional accountability and development.
- Adheres to the Standards of Practice outlined by the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses.
- Additional experience in PACU
- Certification in Post Anesthesia Nursing desirable.
- Variable Day Shift
The PACU Department has 19 bays, open Monday â" Friday 7a â" 7p with weekend coverage. The majority of our patients are adolescent - older adult, but on occasion we have pediatric patients.
! Technology:
Some of the technology and equipment commonly used includes:
- Phillips monitors, portable CO2 monitor, and Glucometer
