Overview:
Coordinate food production, transport and patient service activities for patients (0-18 years) and ensure safe kitchen operation, budget compliance and patient satisfaction.!
Responsibilities:
Complete employee sched! ules for production, patient service and diet office; manage part time hours and overtime to maintain equity for employees; maintain accurate employee attendance records and counseling forms; control FTE's and overtime per budget. Manage communication with nursing, dietitians, patients and diet office to solve food service problems; monitor customer service on patient floors; provide a work climate conducive to productivity and minimal turnover. Inventory, order and manage supplies for diet office, special patient needs and kitchen operations. Manage HR issues involving patient service and production employees. Direct the quality control program of the department.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of basic supervisory skills; nutrition, including special diet management; good communication techniques required. The ability to operate nutrition software; kitchen equipment, including trayline refrigerators; cooking equipment; and sanitation equipment required! .
Education, Licensure and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in nutrition, home economics or other health related field; certification as a Diet Technician or five (5) years supervisory experience in nutrition and in a health care setting.
