Scheduling Specialist
Job Summary: The Scheduling Specialist is responsible fo r scheduling Emergency Department, Anesthesia and Hospitalist physician coverage at hospital to ensure 24/7 coverage. The Provider coverage covers Pediatricians, Physicians, Allied Health Professionals and other healthcare personnel. Candidates with scheduling experience a plus. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain relationships with physicians and Allied Health Professionals.

Position reports to: Scheduling Specialist Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and maintain individual personal preferences for scheduled shifts and time off
  • Create and distribute complete monthly schedules for each assigned physician group
  • Fill all open shifts and emergency openings as they arise
  • Maintain fair and equitable practices for all clinicians
  • Work with physician group to have monthly schedules approved
  • Participate in the analysis, evaluation, and implementation of existing and pr oposed schedules with physicians and Allied Health Professionals
  • Implement Client policies and procedures along with Intermedix policies and procedures
  • Work independently to create and to analyze physician schedules on a regular basis to ensure appropriate coverage during all shifts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation, and other reports to assist in scheduling and/or forecasting as needed.
  • Track and manage various reports for their Manager and/or the Client
  • Monitor and evaluate schedule changes to maintain effective coverage.
  • Recommend improvements in scheduling
  • Confirm final schedules in a timely and accurate manner to payroll monthly. Provide other data related to compensation.
  • Work with Practice Administrator and Medical Director to determine provider scheduling requirements
  • Be a liaison between physician group, Practice Administrator and Intermedix staff, communicating scheduling information.< /li>
  • Communicate effectively with all physicians and Allied Health Professionals
  • Exhibit a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.
  • Attend occasional site meetings as required.
  • Compliance with Intermedix policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Commitment to quality customer service

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to handle unexpected daily challenges.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
