Procurement Intern - Supply Sustainability

As an active part of our international team you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the design, execution, and implementation of strategic sourcing projects for complex direct material categories in ABB Smart Buildings. The role will report to the Procurement Excellence and Sustainability Lead.
Your responsibilities
- Contributing to the sustainability journey of the Division supply chain: screening and identification of alternative plastic raw materials to be considered for implementation in the ABB Smart Buildings products
- Assessing and evaluating factors such as cost, technical/ environmental performance and availability and recommend the steps forward in collaboration with procurement teams.
- Work on market intelligence to follow the fast evolving field of sustainable plastics
- Enquiring supplier capability, financials, industrial set up and strategic orientation and participating in supplier negotiations
- Participating to the planning, preparation and organization of external supplier events and cross-functional workshops (i.e., defining meeting contents, agendas etc.)
- Collecting environmental related data of materials currently in use and their sustainable alternatives (e.g. recycled content, Life Cycle Assessments related data like carbon footprints, etc) and estimate the resulted environmental benefits.
- Being an inside challenger to promote sustainable solutions and culture.
Your background
- Passion for sustainability
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large and complex datasets
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Ongoing master’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or any other sustainability related studies
- Fluency in English
