Speech Language Pathologist (must be able to supervise)

Description: Cole Health is looking of Speech Language Pathologist (must be able to supervise) right now, this job will be placed in Texas. The Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive diagnostic services to patients referred for a possible speech, language, hearing, and/or swallowing d! isorder. With physician referral and approval, treatment plans are implemented to address communication barriers and enable each individual to reach his or her maximum level of independence.
The Fun:
Performs comprehensive evaluations of referred clients using standardized testing tools, non-standardized testing tools and diagonstic probes/tools. Documents results in format approved by facility.
Provides speech therapy for all types of articulation, speech, language, hearing, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders.
Completes all documentation required for each patient (daily goals grids, discharge summaries, re-evaluations, etc. ) on time, within the specified time period.
Communicates to physicians, appropriate members of staff, patient and family members regarding patient needs and progress, either by documentation or, if necessary, direct contact.
Meets productivity expectations.
Supplies billing information to appropriate staff, ! in a proper and timely manner for all patient procedures.
! Participates in and attends rehabilitation team conferences and clinic staff meetings as scheduled.
Will perform supervision responsibilities after three years or earlier if deemed competent in completing supervisory tasks. Provides supervision for and co-signs documentation for staff Speech Language Assistants when applicable.
Observes patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.
Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment. Request orders of needed supplies and equipment in a timely manner to avoid emergency ordering.
Keeps informed of changes and innovation in the field through professional contacts, literature, and workshops.
Continually pursue professional growth and act as a Resource for expertise in the Speech field.
Assume personal responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families that will reinforce the therapy provided in the clinic.
Provide ! education related to Speech Therapy to staff and the general public upon request.
Either attends and actively participates in or obtains an excused absence and arranges for make up for all mandatory meetings and in services.
Suggests and develops new patient programs and ideas for treatment as appropriate.
Demonstrate skills of effective time management.
Demonstrate positive interpersonal communications skills while maintaining standards of professional ethics.
The Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech program holding a Masterâs degree.
Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year
Current Texas license to practice Speech Language Pathology by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language3 Pathology and Audiology.
Must be competent to treat pediatrics and adolescents
Must have CPR certification for all ages
Compute skills-Microsoft Word preferred
