Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. Pediatrician
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
General Pediatrician working at a large FQHC in a medically underserved area.
Perform assessments and provide treatment to clients of the clinic.
Keep scheduled hours for extended clinic coverage during days, evenings, and weekends. Work hours to remain flexible according to the needs of clinic expansion.
- Meet or exceed productivity requirements as set forth by the Chief Medical Officer.
- Follow clinical diagnostic and evidence based treatment protocols for pediatric treatment.
- Remain available by phone during regularly schedule hours should assistance be required.
- Assist in the review and development of patient education material and practice guidelines
- Provide supervision of health care students assigned to the clinic for educational purposes.
- Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance.
- Attend staff meetings and committees as d irected and punctually.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Program
- Participate in on call rotation for afterhours and weekend coverage for department
- Other Duties as assigned
Medical Doctorate with current licensure
Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics
Possess an interest in working with adolescents
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
- Uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.
- Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.
- Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.
- Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public.
- Must be able to perfor m duties with or without reasonable accommodation,
- Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
