children's hospital as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in their Emergency
Department. The
Advanced Practice Provider in this role provides care and management of acutely
ill or injured patients ranging in age from 0-18 who are seeking immediate
medical attention.
Responsibilities of the PNP in Emergency include obtaining patient
histories, performing physical exams, ordering, performing and interpreting
diagnostic tests, prescribing medications and developing treatment plans. In this Level I Trauma
Center, the Provider will manage the entire ED course in collaboration with the
attending, and initiate referrals and follow-up consults to other
providers.

Qualifications:
MSN, required; current RN license (or eligible) in the
State of Texas, required; recognition as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or
eligible) by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, required; current CPR/BLS
and PALS certifications, required; previous PNP emergency department experience,
preferred.
